Freedom of Speech by Annie Rong
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
- 1st Amendment of the United States Constitution
I thought this drawing was very interesting. It expresses what the 1st Amendment means, we as Americans have Freedom of Speech. We hold the key to what we say if I may put it that way. Freedom of Speech is represented as a key in the image above, showing that we are in control of it, it is our key. The woman's mouth is a lock that I assume can be unlocked by the key, further showing that we are in control of what we say.
